We begin our ride in the hillfoots’ town of Alva and head west to Bridge of Allan . Pass through Dunblane and follow scenic country roads with vistas across the plains towards the Trossachs and a number of munros prominent to the west and north. From Braco head east towards Gleneagles and you’re soon heading into the ‘lang toon’ of Auchterarder.

A stop at Synergy is highly recommended to stock up on any bicycle supplies, grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Once refuelled the route takes you towards the main climb of the day, Dunning Glen. A few miles of consistent (and fairly testing) gradient and you top out amongst the trees. Enjoy the descent and once at Yetts o’ Muckhart continue through the towns of Dollar and Tillicoultry back to the starting point.
